Professional Sports Care for Everyone

You don’t need to be a professional athlete to access professional-standard care.

Our Sports Physiotherapy & Performance service is led by Will Garvey, a Chartered Physiotherapist with extensive experience in elite sport (Team GB Skeleton & Judo, Leicestershire County Cricket Club and Loughborough Lightning Womens Rugby).

We combine hands-on treatment with the same data-driven rehabilitation protocols used in professional clubs. This means we don’t just guess when you are ready to return to sport. We test, measure, and prove it.

Introducing The Performance Lab

Data-Driven Performance & Recovery with VALD ForceDecks.

Unique to Byron Health is our in-house Performance Lab. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or surgery or your training has plateaued. You may feel okay day-to-day, but not quite match-ready, the Performance Lab can help.

We believe that effective training and rehab requires accurate data. That is why we use VALD ForceDecks—the industry leader in force plate technology—to assess your strength, movement and equilibrium. This allows us to identify the areas that have become weak and unearth any underlying causes to potential injuries. This data then allows us to construct tailored training / rehab plans to your needs.

The Performance Lab has two leading services:

1. Performance

You might not be injured, but just feel like you need some fine-tuning or expert guidance along your training journey.

We will test key performance metrics for your sport and put together tailored training plans to get you performing at your absolute best.

2. Sports Physiotherapy & Recovery

We manage both acute trauma and long-standing “niggles” that hold you back.

Who We Work With

Our Sports Physiotherapy and Performance services are open to athletes of all levels.

What Happens in a Performance Lab Session?

We discuss in detail your training, performance, health history and goals to build a picture of where you’re at, and where you’re aiming. We then decide on what tests are needed to assess how you move, push, balance and produce force.

The human eye can miss subtle imbalances, but data doesn’t. We use dual force plates and dynamometry to get accurate stats which guide your journey.

Based on your results the next step is to prescribe a tailored plan for you to address the areas identified as needing focus. We will then support you through your journey with monitoring and training progression.

This includes recurring tightness, reduced strength on one side, pain that hasn’t settled after 1–2 weeks, or difficulty returning to full match fitness after injury. Early assessment can prevent minor issues becoming long-term problems.
No. Many clients book a Performance Lab session specifically to identify weaknesses before they cause an injury. This is ideal if you are about to start a marathon training block or a new season.
We use the ForceDecks whenever it is clinically relevant to your recovery or goals. It is particularly useful for lower limb injuries (knees, ankles, hips) and return-to-sport testing.
