Sports Massage in Great Glen, Leicestershire
Whether you are training for a marathon, recovering from a gym injury or simply suffering from the aches and pains of a desk-bound job, our sports massage team is here to help.
Based in Great Glen, we support active people from across Leicestershire, including Oadby, Wigston and Kibworth.
More Than Just a Massage
If your lifestyle places stress on your body, tension can build up over time. This often leads to stiffness, reduced mobility and painful “knots.” Our therapists use deep tissue techniques to release this tension, improve blood flow and restore your range of motion.
Who Is Sports Massage For?
- Runners and Cyclists: To flush out fatigue, manage tight calves/hamstrings and prevent overuse injuries.
- Gym-Goers: To improve flexibility and aid recovery between heavy sessions.
- Office Workers: To release upper back stiffness and neck tension caused by sitting at a computer.
- Physical Workers: To manage the repetitive strain of manual labour.
Conditions We Can Help Manage
- Muscle strains and minor tears
- Repetitive strain injuries (RSI)
- Back pain and stiffness
- Shoulder restriction (including rotator cuff tension)
- Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)
- Plantar fasciitis and tight Achilles tendons
What to Expect at Your Appointment
1. Consultation
Your therapist will start by discussing your training schedule, any current injuries and your goals. We need to know if you want to focus on a specific problem area or generally flush out tired legs.
2. Assessment
We may look at your posture or ask you to perform simple movements to see where your restrictions are.
3. Treatment
We use a combination of deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy (pressure on tight spots) and stretching techniques. The pressure will be firm but adapted to your tolerance. It is normal to feel some "good pain" as tight areas release.
4. Aftercare
We often provide advice on hydration and simple stretches you can do at home to keep your muscles in top condition between visits.
